Incremental product upgrades often lead to long- term decline in product performance and quality. Some of my clients had put all major upgrades on hold owing to the slowdown and high upfront investments. However, with the advent of cloud, such decisions have become easier. Significant product upgrades are now cheaper to execute with PaaS and SaaS enabling easier roll out. I have worked with a top 5 healthcare ISV over a 3- year product upgrade cycle. I helped them first upgrade their UX, then implement an automation strategy. In the last 2 quarters, we have been working on moving part of the product portfolio to Azure and most of the back end data to a PaaS provider.

Travel leader Expedia wanted to simplify content management and improve mobile engagement without alienating its loyal customer base.
